Welcome to the Anthropocene
Past, present and future of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning
A Conservation Biogeographer in the Anthropocene
Combining ecological models to natural history, I aim to unveil the impacts of past, present and future global changes on macroecological patterns of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. A Brazilian heart and history lead most of my interests to tropical ecology but I am open to new (and Canadian cold) adventures! =) I am also an advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion in STEM (at Rede Kunhã Asé).
Research interests
Past, present and future of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning
I aim to develop and apply novel quantitative models to predict the future of biodiversity. The products of the proposed research will assist more precise and robust conservation strategies in face of climate change.
The future web of life
Ecological partnerships can be disrupted, while novel interactions may arise.
Biodiversity redistribution
The distribution of species is constantly on the move.
Invasion
Transposing biogeographical barriers, invaders find a new world.
Courses and supervision
I supervise MSc and PhD students at UNICAMP (Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Brazil) and I co-supervise students at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.
Conservation biogeography, macroecology, species distribution modelling and global change biology are my main research themes.
All taxa are welcome as study cases.

I will offer a "Species Distribution Modelling" course at UNICAMP in 2021, stay tuned!
